Policies

  1. Absences
Fees are not refunded nor are make-up classes offered for student absences. This includes student forgetfulness and double scheduling. This is not the responsibility of the piano teacher. Lessons missed due to the teacher’s absence will be made up at a mutually convenient time, or an immediate refund will be cheerfully given.

The following exception applies: If you are an online or in studio student, I can create and send an exclusive video lesson for you during your regular lesson time. Alternatively, we can work together on an asynchronous lesson if I know ahead of time. If you are an in-studio student, I can substitute an online lesson during your regular lesson time.

This policy keeps lesson fees reasonable and brings dignity to my work.

1. Associated fees
Students are responsible for exam registration and payment.
Fees for music festivals and recitals are billed separately.
Music books and other learning materials are the responsibility of the student.

2.Contacting the teacher

Email is best prior to the lesson day; you will need to text, or phone the day of your lesson. Please no calls on Sunday. I do not accept calls, emails, etc., from children.

3. Addressing the teacher

I prefer children call me Mr. Story. Everyone else: David or Dave.
